I’ve not owned a decent pair of binoculars before. It took me a bit of time to get use to the Avalon 8x32’s so I didn’t get the black circles in view. I also needed to get them focused correctly for my different eye strengths. The view is clear and sharp with good magnification for their size. They are easy to hold steady. They look to be robustly made, so I hope they’ll give me many years of good service.

We already own the 8×32 version which is a really good set of binoculars. Therefore we expected the 10×42 set to be even better. A little larger,a little heavier but the extra magnification and field of vision is very satisfying. Delivery was extremely quick too.

My old binoculars were past their best and too heavy. On doing some research the Avalon binoculars came out really well (unless you pay a fortune). I bought them for my forthcoming trip to South Africa. So far I’ve only used them in my garden. The images have been so crisp and clear. I’m extremely impressed with them

I bought these for my husband, a keen amateur bird watcher and motorcyclist. He’s delighted basically. They are light and the carry case with strap make them super convenient when out riding. I chose them in platinum so they’re easy to spot if left lying around, in addition to making a pleasant change from the usual black. The reduced price made them an even more attractive purchase. Would recommend.

My first purchase of binoculars and I’m not disappointed. I started off answering the questions in the ‘Easy Binoculars Finder’ section of the website. This resulted in buying the ‘Avalon 10x42 Pro HD Binoculars (Platinum). Delivery was prompt and they arrived well packaged with easy to follow instructions. I even managed to fit the neck strap without too much effort. The binoculars are lightweight, attractive, with superb optics. I bought them for bird watching and they are proving to be a fabulous buy.

I've always had binoculars of one type or another, but never anything either expensive or of real quality. I'd always wanted a pair of "birdwatching" binoculars though, similar to those that are always seen on the TV nature programs, etc. but having seen the price of them, I imagined them all to be in the couple of grand mark, and way out of my price range.
However, I thought, stuff it, I'm treating myself and after several days of looking & reading, weighing up the pros & cons of several makes & types, I finally settled on the Avalon 10x42 Pro HD Platinums.
They've got a reassuring weight to them, yet are a perfect size and not heavy, and the clarity through the lenses is way beyond anything I'd had previously. I love them !
I had my first proper use of them the other day, when the local Sparrowhawk pounced on a Starling in the garden. Unlucky for the poor Starling, but lucky for me and the binoculars were just perfect.

A birthday present for my wife - we are keen bird watchers. She took them to our local WWT site this week and described them as 'brilliant'. I agree - superb optics, very light, nicely balanced and they are great value. Our only (minor) criticism is that the case is too small. The Avalon team are exceptionally efficient.

Just what I was looking for to be able to use when walking the dog. So often unable to see birds clearly but with these no problem. Nice and light with good clarity. Obviously with the small viewing lens you don't get a wide perspective but pretty good for what I wanted.

Not only have I enjoyed the clarity and light weight of these binoculars over the past (almost) three years, but when a problem with the eye-cups occurred, Avalon sent a replacement within three days. This was more than I expected and gives me confidence in the company - which honoured its lifetime VIP guarantee.
The eye-correction adjustment is most welcome.

Bought for my partner as a birthday present for our motorcycling trip around Spain. He used them on the ferry and saw whales and dolphins in the distance using them. Now home I probably use them more than he does. I take them on our daily dog walks as we live in the country as they are so lightweight. For me the best bit is how easy they are to adjust the vision. I wear glasses and can see things in the distance very clearly with these. Highly recommend.

Excellent binoculars been on a number of cruises using them from our balcony, well worth the money & highly recommended, my only negative thing is the one large plastic lens cover is so loose it’s dropping off all the time but really pleased with the quality of the binoculars.

My wife and I share a pair of the Avalon 8x32 which are excellent for birdwatching. It was time to buy my own pair so I opted for the more powerful 10x42 Avalon. These are still light and small enough for everyday use but I appreciate the extra power if the lens. These are excellent binoculars and I would highly recommend them for birdwatching and general use including occasional star gazing. They are great for looking at the moon.

I'm really enjoying using the Avalon 10×42 WP Monocular. I bought it for two reasons, hopefully temporarily I have double vision so a monocular is fine, and also I often take my camera with me which results in the combination of bins and camera around my neck, weighing a ton, and getting in the way of each other. With the monocular I simply leave it in a side pocket. Also, being so much lighter than the bins, and simply carried, I now find that I am taking it with me on a lot more occasions than I would with the bins.

Manufacture and performance wise it is great thus far. The lens caps and the holding strap work well and I am sure the tripod mount will be useful too.

My only minor gripe is that the focus screw works opposite to any bins that I have had in a counter intuitive direction however this is not a big deal and you get used to it. Daylight images are very clear and at night stars are sharp. The full moon had only the slightest reflected glow.

Overall, very pleased.

I bought these for my wife as her first 'proper' binoculars. They needed to be light, a handy size, easily adjustable, have a large focusing knob, eye relief adjustment and a clear light picture. These tick all those boxes and more. My wife, being practical, likes the attached lens caps, as well. All in all we are both very pleased and impressed with the quality and value.

Bought these for a mix of bird watching (complete amateur!) and also for inspecting features on trees that might be suitable for bats, so need a good close-focusing ability. Had a quick play with them and so far so good. Not too heavy, comfy strap and very clear images. I also love that the covers are attached as I have always lost these very quickly in the past!

Good binoculars and very prompt delivery. However, the rubber covers on the lenses keep getting in the way, if they swivelled 180 then might be better. Small issue but might need to disconnect them.

White rather than platinum body & quickly dirtied when climbing stiles or fences (but easily cleaned). As bright & clear an image as expected & better than expected in dim lighting; firm focusing & wonderfully light even when walking all day. I've missed the 10x magnification of my other bins on a couple of occasions but that's been a small price to pay for the compactness of these.

One of the weakest binoculars through which I have ever observed. The twist cup is totally unmounted with the body, you can forget about any 3-way adjustment of the distance. They just come out on their own. Powerful reflections spoiling the contrast. Observation on a sunny day is simply a tragedy. .a very weak sweet spot, in principle, if you can call it a sweet spot at all, I estimate the sharpness at 6/10. In a word, punishment than pleasure of observation. .they are not worth even £ 30, not to mention the price in the manufacturer's shop 👎If someone claims that this is a good pair of binoculars, they probably have never seen anything from at least a medium-low shelf .

Great for using on walks to see things in the distance, great for looking at the night sky. An improvement on my old binoculars for looking at the raptors that fly high above our garden. Not great for general birdwatching - too heavy and for a woman, the eye cups are not close enough together. Strap broke after a year.

I purchased these after handling some top of the range 8 x 32 binoculars of a similar size and from a well known top end manufacturer. Deciding that I would like a lighter pair to the 8 x 42 that I already own but not wanting to spend megabucks I did some research and came across Avalon. I wasn't expecting them to be anywhere near as clear or sharp as the £1000.00+ pair that I had tried but was I surprised when they arrived. They are lightweight, sharp and equally as clear as more expensive alternatives. I thoroughly recommend.

This is my third pair of avalon binoculars purchased this year. The first two pairs are excellent. These binoculars were for use in a more static setting and I intend to use a monopod or tripod because of the high magnification. The image quality is very good and they are not too heavy. I have 10 x 50 marine binoculars from another company which are much heavier. The company are also excellent if you have any problems and deal with them promptly and to the customers satisfaction. I would highly recommend their products.

I'm very pleased with the purchase. An excellent pair of binoculars for the price. They take a little setting up and once so you will be ready for some very good viewing in my case bird watching. I was able to clearly see bramble and other hard to view birds from a comfortable distance.

Love my new Avalon mini 8x32 Binoculars. Very fast delivery and well packaged. Feel good in the hand, not flimsy. Easy to set and superb clear view, I have them on-hand by the kitchen window. Hardest thing I had to do was to work out, using their instructions, how to thread the strap, but that is probably just me. Very pleased with size, look and quality of them.

Delighted with these binoculars- the first time we used them we saw very clearly a green woodpecker, in the Yorkshire Dales, and a young one also, hardly possible to see these birds with the naked eye in the tree. Love the lightness of the product, but rather disappointed that the rubber round the top of the lenses don't roll down as stated in the description, which means I have to remove my glasses when wanting to use them.

Excellent choice and very compact - delivery was prompt, quicker than many on-line purchases that I have made recently. Brilliant when walking - hiking or jogging on the South Downs. Really impressed with how the lens caps etc are still attached to the binoculars when detached and in use. Really good choice which I can highly recommend.

Having worked my way through a number of average quality binoculars over the years I had always promised to get myself a 'decent' pair one day. I am glad I decided to step up to Avalon. Having tried them, 'decent' seems a bit of an insult, they are excellent. Crystal clear vision and easy to use. The captive lens caps are quite a unique feature and I will be interested to see how long they stay captive in the rough & tumble of outdoor use over the coming years.

I have been meaning to buy a pair of binoculars for a long time. My brother has a pair
of 10x42 binoculars, i tried them and they were fantastic, Avalons web site asks what
you are using them for, i clicked on what the questions were asked, i could not believe it came up with the same pair 10x42, hence i bought them, and have not

Best pair of binoculars l have ever owned , such crystal clear lenses. We took them on holiday last week on a barge trip and found them easy to use and just the right balance of 10x42 for bird watching. What is brilliant is the main cups are attached to the neck strap and the front caps unclip and drop down but still attached to the binoculars which is a great feature. I absolutely love the colour of platinum. One very happy customer.
